About

Burnout Radio Banner

Burnout Radio is Co-hosted by Charlie Brumfield and Nick Malone and is the primary podcast at Performance Radio Network. We take a light hearted look at the auto industry and we tend to spend more time off topic than on thanks to Charlie’s A.D.D. and Nick’s obsession with the Dodge Challenger. We share our opinions about our latest test drives and spend a fair amount of time ripping on one another. So if you like a good laugh and are as addicted to cars as we are then you’ll definatly digg this cast.

Burnout Radio got started mid 2008 when we contrived a scheme to get to test drive a bunch of cars for free. That scheme was the Burnout Radio podcast where we do nothing but test drive cars, review products and go to as many car shows as humanly possibly. Then once a week, we sit down and tell you guys about whats new in the automotive industry, and fill you in on our weekly shinanagans.

Our Staff:

Charlie Brumfield

Charlie and FriendsSo in case you haven’t figured it out yet, my name is Charlie Brumfield, and I co-host the Burnout Radio Podcast with my brother Nick. I’m also the web guy, the photographer, videographer, editor, writter, audiophile, and graphics monkey for Burnout Radio. In my day job I run a web and graphics studio named Laguna Creative, with my other brother Steve.

My ride is a 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse which for all intensive purposes is completely bone stock.

Nick Malone

nick and the smart carMy name is Nick Malone.  Sometimes I’m not sure why I’m here because I don’t know much about building web sites, nor maintaining them, I’m not an expert in the mechanics of cars, though I’d say I know more than the average person, and I’m not an expert in…well, anything really.  But apparently I’m doing something right because I am part of an automotive podcast that is vastly growing in popularity.  I absolutely love just about anything with a motor in it.  My baby is a 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8.  I have a hot German wife and a daughter that has me searching for a good bat for when she gets older.  And, I’m told I have a humorous personality.  All that, I suppose makes for good podcasting material.  Well, and the cars.

Shawn “Figgy Fig” Newton

I’m Shawn Newton, the new slave…err… Intern for Burnout Radio.  I’ve recently graduated from Texas A&M University-Commerce with a degree in Business Administration, and I’m currently pursuing a Masters of Business Administration (employers with generous job offers apply here).

Cars have always been a natural passion of mine. I’m not really sure how I became addicted, especially being in a family that is about as eager about cars as a deaf person is about iPods… My dad is the exception, who could work on any car blindfolded but wasn’t a subscriber to Car and Driver by any means.  During high school, I was the grease monkey at a local “old fashioned” gas and service station pumping gas, changing oil, and my favorite-repairing, balancing and installing tires and custom rims.

My current car is a 2002 Chevrolet Camaro, and no…It’s not an SS, but has been bulletproof for the past 8 years…but hey, there’s always room to dream about a 2011 SS convertible right? Or maybe a Corvette GS convertible?  I also have a project 1971 Volkswagen Super Beetle that I found in the local salvage yard.  Volunteers Wanted.

Jini White

Teacher by day, Super Voice Over Girl by night! I’ll admit, I don’t know much about cars, but I can read the scripts that Charlie gives me just fine.  In my 28 years of existence, I’ve owned a 1998 Ford Contour Sport (not much Sport there to brag about), a 2004 Ford Explorer, and a 2009 Acura TSX.  I gotta admit that I do have my eye on a 2011 Ford Edge or 2011 Lincoln MKX. I like my Acura but think I’m an SUV kinda girl and the tech in the new Ford/Lincolns is pretty sweet! (In case you can’t tell I’m a geek at heart.)

So, while I don’t contribute much in the way of content to Burnout Radio, you’ll still hear my voice in every show, and from time to time you’ll also see me in a video or two, because you have to admit, I’m a way better looking the either Charlie or Nick.

Amber Walters

My name is Amber Walters.  I attend school full time at A.T.I. for automotive technician.  I don’t know now everything about cars but I am learning.  I aspire to help women feel comfortable getting their cars serviced.  I also currently work for a number one dealership full time.  I do P.D.I. on weekdays and Saturdays I do oil changes and tire rotations.

Almost ten years ago a quick lube didn’t put Royal Purple in my car when getting serviced.  After that I vowed no one will ever work on or touch my car again.  If I didn’t know how to fix what was wrong I asked a good friend to show me how.  My first love and learned a lot from was a 1994 Acura Vigor “Baby”. I regret everyday putting her in the corner.   My second/current car is a 2010 Kia Soul “Soul Stryker”.   She does her job getting me to work, school, and home carrying the tools I need to get me through the day.

Trent Landreth

pict6346_LandrethHi, my name is Trent Landreth. I’ve got a beautiful wife and little boy whom I love dearly, and by day I work in I.T. attending a lot of meetings. However this is Burnout Radio, so you might wonder what I’m doing here. It all started 25 years ago with a 6 foot Lamborghini poster and helping my dad replace alternators or whatever else had died on our ever-changing family vehicles. My obsession continues today by attending every driving event and car show I can justify and wrenching on the occasional vehicle in the garage.

The next logical step, to me, was to pursue a way to share my passion of all things automotive by creating ReflectionsOfTheDrive.com. During that pursuit, I was lucky enough to get to know Charlie and Nick here at Burnout Radio who have graciously allowed me to contribute my questionably relevant opinions here at Burnout Radio.

My car of choice right now is a lightly modified 2005 Infiniti G35 Sedan 6MT which serves as my baby hauler, road rally car, daily driver, and track toy.
